FALMOUTH UNIVERSITY
Magazine concept for a project at Falmouth University, where my task was to research and discuss a topic I was passionate about, and show it in a new light.
I focused on the Lincoln Astronomical Society, where I was lucky enough to visit the observatory and lecture hall to gather photographic evidence. I then conduced an online interview with one of its current members.
‘Astronomical’ would be a short publication run exploring the history of observatories within England.
We were also encouraged to think about how we would market, produce, and distribute the document. If I had a blank cheque to create this, my idea would be to have a special edition of the publication, which includes printing methods using ink infused with moon dust. Along with packaging made from the same materials used to ship space food. I could then market the print by attaching an edition to a satellite. Much like NASA’s Golden Record which was attached to a voyager probe, and Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster on top of SpaceX’s 2018 Falcon Heavy Rocket, driver included.
Alongside this I also produced an interactive website prototype, where users could sign up to memberships to discover exclusive content. To view this please follow this link.
